Hertfordshire was the last open show of the year (ie held as part of a country show in a tent in a field!). Although it was muddy, the rain held off for most of the day. There were lots of exhibitors there that I hadn't seen for a while, so it was lovely to catch up.
I hadn't shown under the judge for this show before, so it was interesting to get a different perspective on my hamsters. They didn't do well today, but I picked up lots of tips on how to improve them both for the next show and for the next generation. My best straight class placing was 3rd in normal Chinese. In a way, I treasure place cards like this more than my firsts because this was won with two top Chinese breeders exhibiting. It definitely gives me something to aim for!
